The Beast vs. Babylon
Daniel’s fourth kingdom, the Roman Empire (the EU under a dictator), is extended into history and connected with the beast, Daniel 9, 12. The harlot rides the back of the beast, Revelation 17:3. That indicates the harlot, Babylon, lords over him. This parallels the United States preeminent position in world politics and military presence worldwide. The beast will burn with jealousy over her preeminence in the world and burn her with fire. The harlot, Babylon, is a great port city according to her description in Revelation 17–18. A certain prominent city of the United States fits this description quite well among cities of the world in recent times. New York City fits all the descriptive points of Babylon the Great. In addition, it is the host of the United Nations. Therefore, we have a distinction between Babylon the Great and the empire of the beast.
Identity Details
The antichrist here in 2020 is likely in his 30s based on the fact that the Great Commission will complete in the next decade or two. Jesus revealed this event would signal end time commencement. He is likely a political figure with growing influence in the European Parliament. It seems fruitless to ascribe the rise of antichrist to Freemasonry, Bilderberg, Illuminati, or any popular conspiracy theories that have been tossed around for the last century. There could be spiritual symbolism in the antichrist coming from the House of Habsburg-Lorraine from which the final Holy Roman Emperors descended. This might indicate German birth. There is actually a member of this family in the European Union Parliament. These clues, in the end, are only speculation. Anything is possible. The antichrist will arise as the man of the hour in the time of chaos beginning in events of Revelation chapters 6 through 9. The church will not likely be here at this time as Revelation 7:9-14 seems to indicate we have already been caught up to heaven.
