This blog views the Book of Revelation as a sequential series of events beginning in the first century and ending with the second advent of Christ in a future appearance on earth during the final events of the apocalypse. The sequential order of events is arranged by the seals, trumpets, and bowls revealed from heaven. This is a version of the historicist position but not an attempt, as some groups make, to identify the Catholic Church, any part of the Protestant Church, or any of the sects of Islam as the antichrist system. The rapture of the church is pretribulation but not pre-seven seals. The first four seals are the tribulation of history mentioned in Matthew 24:7-12. The Great Tribulation begins at seal six. The seven year period known as week seventy begins approximately one to several years later during the sixth trumpet of seal seven. The antichrist will be revealed as a future individual who will attempt to become the all-powerful ruler of the nations of the world during this coming time of world crisis.
